- Rebecca (@Rbecca1218) reported
@LegendaryNeuro @SCE Simi resident Reese experienced a 32-hour power shut off! He said use eminent domain!!! 🙏🏽 Our area has been windy and fire prone. Need localized powered!
- Reese Holland #BlackLivesMatter (@LegendaryNeuro) reported
@Rbecca1218 @SCE If something is a measure of last resort, then when the emergency is over, FIX IT SO IT DOESN'T NEED A LAST MINUTE EMERGENCY SHUTOFF! Hole in the roof and the rain is coming? Put a tarp up now, fix the roof when the rain is over.
- Reese Holland #BlackLivesMatter (@LegendaryNeuro) reported
@Rbecca1218 @SCE Hueso has pointed out that PSPS has been a tool in the box for the past 15 years, and was supposed to only be for emergencies, not to absolve themselves of the responsibility of keeping lines clear and safe from wildfire hazard.
- Reese Holland #BlackLivesMatter (@LegendaryNeuro) reported
@Rbecca1218 @SCE Oh he's gonna explain why they PSPS. Yes, we know things are dry, we know weather conditions get really bad, and we know there's Santa Ana Winds. We've known about these my whole life. This isn't new.
- ericbey_photography (@ericbey3) reported
For the love of God @SCE how the hell do I speak to a live customer service representative.
- Reese Holland #BlackLivesMatter (@LegendaryNeuro) reported
@Rbecca1218 @SCE Garcia recognizes that we need to end this practice, but asserts that the threat of power loss is worse than the threat of wildfire. He cites a city that has water pumps off for 10 days, which is a crisis in itself. His goal is to reduce the frequency of PSPS, which has worsened.
- Reese Holland #BlackLivesMatter (@LegendaryNeuro) reported
@Rbecca1218 @SCE Everything they are talking about needs to have been done by now, completed by now. The faster everything is reinforced, the more frequently we can inspect everything, the more we control where power goes and has to be shut off, the safer we are. This must be the top priority.
- Reese Holland #BlackLivesMatter (@LegendaryNeuro) reported
@Rbecca1218 @SCE Senator Hueso is up from the Senate Standing Committee on Energy, Utilities and Communications and covers the laundry list of problems affecting our power access and infrastructure. PG&E and SCE both identified of problem areas, and Fall 2019 was their "we must do better" point.
- Reese Holland #BlackLivesMatter (@LegendaryNeuro) reported
@Rbecca1218 @SCE "I find it criminal." 100% agree. 100% agree that shutting power for liability is no excuse for not fixing the infrastructure.
- Reese Holland #BlackLivesMatter (@LegendaryNeuro) reported
@Rbecca1218 @SCE Had to step away for a sec. Secure portal for community PSPS use has been needed, and the answer is that they've made website upgrades. It is public, not a portal, and provides locations of help centers and outage forecasts.
